WHAT IS BLUE LIGHT?

Blue light generally is defined as visible light ranging from 380 to 420 nm. Blue light waves are among the shortest, highest energy wavelengths in the visible light spectrum. Because short-wavelength, high energy blue light scatters more easily than other visible light, it is not as easily focused. This unfocused visual “noise” reduces contrast and can contribute to digital eye strain.

WHY IS BLUE LIGHT HARMFUL TO MY EYES?

Because the eye is poor at blocking blue light, virtually all visible blue light passes through the cornea and lens and reaches the retina.  Too much exposure to blue light can damage light-sensitive cells in the retina, causing changes that resemble those of macular degeneration, which can lead to permanent vision loss.

ABOUT BLUE LIGHT PROTECTIVE GLASSES

Blue light protective lenses block harmful blue light emitted from digital devices (TVs, computer monitors, tablets, phones, etc.). They may help to alleviate the symptoms caused by prolonged use of digital devices, like headaches and migraines, eye strain, eye fatigue, blurred vision, loss of sleep, and neck/shoulder/back pain, or even long-term affects like macular degeneration (partial blindness).
